About Us
"Fly fishing is our passion"
Our first boats were engineered in 1997 by our founder Link Jackson. Link was born in Montana to a family embedded in the back country guiding and outfitting business. As a young boy, Link and his father Wayne floated and fly fished the streams of legend across Montana. Wilderness roots and an acquired taste for white water and wilderness expeditions paved the way to Streamtech Boats. At a time when the children of the family were quite young, StreamTech Boats were created to give us a river boat offering all of the drift fishing amenities developed in the hard drift boat world in a class V capable inflatable that would provide a more stable, safe and versatile craft for our family expeditions. Campfire discussions of boat design lead to formal engineering focused on producing a whole new level of rowing performance and functionality. Once it was designed, engineered, built and tested it became clear given the excellent result, the boats should be offered for sale on the open market. It became a side line business that quickly grew to be the powerful force in the river boat market it is today.
One of the best things we ever did was team up with Maravia Corporation to build our boats. Maravia's means and methods applied to our designs resulted in some truly outstanding boats that are a joy to row. Follow this link to see The Facts on Maravia Boats. Maravia builds a tough, durable boat that includes their "Drop Stitch" floors that are key to many of the outstanding performance characteristics of our boats. Because on any given day we are just as likely to float a day fishing trip on the S. Fk. of the Boise River as a weeklong class IV expedition wilderness run on the Middle Fork of the Salmon river or a class IV to V paddle raft adventure, we have developed all the accessories one could need for these uses and they are all available right here. In addition, we have trailers, boat covers and a variety of functional accessories to complete your package. We have learned to help our customers tailor their boat packages to fit their specific intended uses rather well. Just ask about configuration possibilities and we have the answers. We look forward to working with you.
